Nigerian hip pop artist Eedris Abdulkareem called out Burna Boy today saying he isn’t the real Odogwu. Note that Burna Boy released a song earlier this year titled “Odogwu”. In a video thread posted today on twitter, Eedris Abdulkareem gave his reasons for his claims.
In his video Eedris mentioned that Burna Boy was too arrogant and proud for singing a song like that and also claiming to be the African giant. He said that Burna Boy is just coming up and the Likes of Wizkid and Davido are the only ones qualified to be called Odogwu. Taking us back he said it was the same thing he told 2Face Idebia years ago that he was the plantation in plantation boys and the rest were boys.
In his words he said “Burna Boy, you never reach Odogwu. Na Davido be Odogwu, I no know you.”
In his defense he said “Davido has been able to add value to lives in this generation. I respect Davido, no be say I dey toast am. Davido has love, leave him alone ”. Eedris Adulkareem also apologized to Davido saying he takes back every wrong thing he has said about him. He also pointed that he is now Davido’s number one fan and from tomorrow he will wearing a jersey saying “Davido 01”.
The Advice
In his concluding statement, Eedris Abdulkareem advised Burna Boy to clam down and learn as he was not behaving like an African person. He told Burna Boy to learn from MKO Abiola, Awolowo and the likes. If Burna Boy continues on this path he will disgrace the African race.
